MAURITIUS DEVELOPMENTS
Permanent Residency via acquisition of property in Mauritius
Permanent residency can be obtained by investing a minimum net amount of $375, 000 (R5.6mil) or above
(recently decreased from $500, 000).
On purchase of property at the minimum investment amount ($375,000), you and your family
(spouse and children up to the age of 24 years) would then be eligible to apply for a resident permit.
Non-citizens are allowed to acquire residential property in Mauritius under schemes approved and
managed by the Economic Development Board such as.
- The Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS)
- The Real Estate Property Scheme (RES)
- The Property Development Scheme (PDS)
- The Smarty City Scheme
- Ground +2 Apartments
It should be noted that Non-citizens are allowed to purchase apartments in condominium developments of at least two levels above ground (G+2) with the prior approval of the Economic Development Board, provided the purchase price of an apartment is not less than MUR 6 million or its equivalent in any other hard convertible currency. The purchase of an apartment does not allowa non-citizen the eligibility for the permanent residence permit
